I Built a Split Flap Board Instead of Finishing My App (You're Welcome)
I was supposed to be finishing CONQR. Instead, I built CONQR FLIPPITY, a digital split flap board you can use free or unlock for $5.
So. Conqr. You may have heard of it. You may not have heard of it, which is entirely on me and my deep, committed relationship with procrastination.
While I was supposed to be heads-down finishing Conqr, the actual product, the thing I've been building, I instead did what any reasonable founder does: I got distracted and built something else entirely.
Meet Conqr FLIPPITY.
It's a digital split flap display board. You know those gorgeous, clicky, old-school airport departure boards? Yeah. That, but in your browser. You can customize it, sequence it, resize it, make social-media-sized versions of it, and export it. It's kind of stupidly satisfying to use, honestly.
Is it a flippity flop? I'll see myself out.
Why does this exist?
Partly because I genuinely love split flap displays and couldn't help myself. But also because a place called FlipFlap, yes, really, was charging $200 for a TV version of basically this concept. Two hundred dollars. I saw that and something in me said absolutely not.
So I built one you can get for $5. One time. Personal use, forever. Or free, if you don't mind a little runconqr.com watermark at the bottom, which honestly is a pretty fair trade.
